LOUNGE TRANSFORMATION

I transformed an existing hall/lounge into a separate living area by building a partition wall and renovating into a modern design.

Project overview

Problem: The customer had bought a terrace house that needed a total transformation. The lounge was almost unliveable; it featured a prehistoric fire, an ancient carpet and an irregular shape.

Fix: With the rear extension in build. I set about transforming the existing hallway and lounge. This significant project required a structural steel placement to allow me to alter the room to become a regular square shape. Everything in the room was renovated, with the existing walls and ceiling requiring replastering and removing an existing stud wall. I added a new floor and built a feature fireplace with a backlit wooden finish. I added coloured LED lights along with an old-style feature anthracite radiator. The final result was a stunning transformation and the creation of a modern, cosy lounge which provided the family with a fantastic living space.
