Privacy notice
How I look after the details you send me.
Who I am
Thehandymancan is run by Jon, a sole trader and handyman working across West Sussex. I am responsible for the personal details you send through this website. You can contact me by email at help@thehandymancan.repair or by phone on 07305 866763.
What I collect and why
When you send the free estimate form, I receive your first name, surname, email address, phone number and the message you write. When you send the question form, I receive your name, email address and question. I also note which page you sent it from and when.
I use these details only to reply to you, give you an estimate and, if you go ahead, arrange and carry out the work. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries. I never sell your details or use them for marketing.
Cookies and analytics
We don't use cookies on this website. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and measure how quickly our pages load. It doesn't use cookies or collect personal data. We also count, anonymously, when someone taps our phone number, email, WhatsApp, booking, directions, social media or review links, or sends an enquiry. This only records which link or button was used, on which page and when. It doesn't record your IP address, your device or anything you type. When you send an enquiry, we use Brevo to email it to us and send you a confirmation.
Who else handles your details
- Brevo sends your enquiry to me by email, sends you a confirmation and keeps a record of the enquiry for me.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and runs Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that forms are sent by a person rather than a spam robot.
- RAID Marketing builds and looks after this website and may see enquiries when something needs fixing.
Each of them only uses your details to provide their service to me.
How long I keep your details
I keep enquiries for six months and then delete them. If you go ahead with work, I keep the details I need for the job, and for my tax records for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of the details I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete them. You can also object to how I use them. Email help@thehandymancan.repair and I will reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
